Music for ads: preparing a brief

2026-03-102 min read

Start with the task rather than the genre: an ad, jingle, podcast or background music for a venue. Open music for advertising and choose a suitable scenario.

Prepare a brief

Describe the audience, mood, desired tempo and length. If speech will play over the music, choose an instrumental and leave space for the voice. For a jingle, add the brand name and a short phrase. Choose the vocal language separately for another audience.

Check the result

Listen with the video: does the music overwhelm the narrator, and do the opening and ending fit? A requested duration does not replace checking the finished file; precise editing may require trimming.

Before commercial use

Compare plans on the business pricing page. License terms, formats and rights depend on the selected plan and offer. Check them before purchasing and publishing an ad.
